Dhoni Devils did it again!
It was another golden day for Indian cricket when their might, supreme, talent and exuberance rose to seven skies. After a hiatus of 23 years, Team India managed to register a coveted tournament by beating the mighty host at their home soil. Indians looked confident from the word “go” as master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar dominated Aussie bowling attack with a thumping 91 runs. There were useful contributions by Utthapa, Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh that further consolidated position by imposing a total of 258 runs in the second final of Commonwealth Bank Series. Later it was match-winning efforts by upcoming bowling talent Praveen Kumar, hurricane from UP that almost rattled Aussie top order. Gilchrist, Ponting and Clarke went out cheaply and it was Praveen Kumar hostile bowling impact that did the entire trick. The consecutive dismissal of Hayden and Symonds proved turning point and match tilted to India’s way. James Hopes gave some anxious moments when he catapulted with a patience and fighting knock of 63 runs. It was the last over of Irfan Pathan did reminded more of Joginder Sharma’s last over at T20 finals. Pathan took two important wickets in his last over but the final curtains fell when dangerous Hopes departed with his fighting knock. India won and achieved it with a thumping style and the day completed belonged to the “men in blues”. Dhoni devils did it again…after T20 glory! Now we have couple of more rising stars in the form of Rohit Sharma, Ishant Sharma, Piyush Chawla and Praveen Kumar and we can expect more grand results in coming years.
