INDIA”S LABOUR PAINS!!!

WELL,THIS SEEMS A BIT INTERSTING!THE LABOUR FORCE IN OUR COUNTRY IS GROWING AT THE RATE OF 2.5% PER ANNUM AND ON THE OTHER HAND,THE EMPLOYMENT RATE IS ONLY ABOUT 2.3%.THIS GIVES US DOUBLE HEADACHE.WE NOT ONLY HAVE TO ABSORB THE NEW ENTRANTS TO THE JOB MARKET BUT ALSO HAVE TO CLEAR THE BACKLOG.SEEMS TO BE A VERY TOUGH JOB.
THE NUMBER OF SKILLED WORKERS COMPRISES ONLY 5-7% OF THE TOTAL WORKFORCE.AND COMPARE THIS WITH THAT OF A MUCH SMALLER COUNTRY LIKE SOUTH KOREA,WHICH HAS 95% SKILLED LABOUR…..HOW”S THAT FOR A DIFFERENCE???
WE ARE STILL FAR FROM ACHIEVING THE TARGET OF PROVIDING PRIMARY EDUCATION TO ALL AND THIS IS THE AREA ON WHICH THE GOVT. NEEDS TO FOCUS A LOT.NOT ONLY THIS,EVEN THE HIGHER EDUCATION NEEDS A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT.
IN THE YEARS TO COME,THE WORKFORCE IS ONLY BOUND TO INCREASE,THE GOVT. NEEDS TO CREATE EMPLOYMENT SOURCES OTHERWISE THE GROWTH MAY BE HAMPERED FURTHER.

I the first instance your head line of Labour Pains made me to think about the pain experienced by a woman during delevering the baby, yes it will happen to anyone who has read Medicine.
Coming to the topic its a very nice discussion and you seem to be a HR management person. Though i could not clearly understand what you ment to say but i got the whole concept of it. Its easy to blame the Govt. for all the things happening in the Country and we should also not forget that its the people who select the Govt.

Good figurative information of such a topic but it would be more efficient if it would give more numericals with %.

Knowledge increases my sharing and not hiding.

Hi When I first read the title, I thought the same way like Mr. Vinay Kiran79. But after reading the topic then I understood the topic is about the countries Labour Force growth rate analysis. The figures u have presented it in a very informative & interesting manner. You are right govt has to take some concrete steps to create employment sources..

    With love Madhu….

To get education underway ..child labour has to stop..howmany of us say no when we are served by an under 15 year old boy in a tea shop. How many of us react when we see children working in the households……only when the people of India react to this and send all children to school will we get a proper work force

    Hello,

Will the govt. dare to bring in laws to control the population. They will not as family planning is not accepted in certain religions.
