SHABARIMALA

As very well known to all people Kerala is recognized as a land of temples.
Kerala contains a temple in each corner of each city. Its thus very obvious that even the people are very religious………..
Out of all the temples, ” SHABARIMALA ” is the most famous one.
This temple is situated in the high peaks of sahyadhari mountains.
Sabarimala is a Sri Dharmasastha Temple that is given grat importance in keralian culture.
There are many sastha temples over here but ” SHABARIMALA ” is the most famous one among all the Sastha Temples.
The temple has much much popularity in all world, Infact it attracts pilgrims not only from the southern states of India, but also from other parts of the country and abroad.
It is believed that “Parasurama Maharshi” was the one who retrieved Kerala and that too from the sea by throwing his axe.
After this he needed a place for worshipping Lord Ayyappa.
Later on the idol of Ayyappa was placed at Sabarimala to worship .
