My Little Daughter
I was watching Amul Star Voice of India Chote Ustaad on 7th March 2008 and theme was brides and groom, Bidayi. So I thought of writing a poem for daughters. Daughters are not burden, but a gift for all of us. Infact the serial betiyaan (Serial on Zee TV) has proved that daughters are like sons and can handle the family in any good and bad times.
She is my daughter,
My only great laughter,
I became a proud mother,
Only cause of her,
I share with problem,
In good and bad moments,
With her I used play,
And always she says,
I am her friend,
And our relation will be right till the end.

This is the time for equal oppurtunity for both girls and boy .
There are very few families who still believe that they should have only boys as a child.
The virtue lies in the struggle, not the prize.

IT IS A MYTH THAT DAUGHTERS ARE BURDEN BUT FORTUNATELY TODAY MOST OF THE PARENTS ARE TREATING SONS & DAUGHTERS EQUALLY . EITHER IT IS SON OR DAUGHTER THE MOTHER TAKES NINE TO DELIVER. SO WHY PARENTS SHOULD TAKE DAUGHTER AS BURDEN ?
THESE DAYS NO ONE DIFFERENTIATE A DAUGHTER AND A SON. THE DAYS HAS PAST. NOW CHILDREN ARE RECOGNISED AS CHILDREN ONLY. THOUGH FEW RURALITES STILL GO FOR FEMALE FOETICIDE, WE CAN NOT GENERALIZED IT. THEY ARE ILLITERATE AND SO STILL BELEIVS THE OLD BELIEFS.
