Review of Shaurya

“Shaurya” is a term that encapsulates bravery, courage and honour. It is a story about justice, honour, faith and believing in yourself.

The story revolves around two close friends, who are lawyers in the Indian army. The two friends are Major Siddhant Chaudhary (Rahul Bose) and Major Akash Kapoor (Javed Jaffrey). A soldier is convicted for killing his commanding officer and the case is handled by Siddhant. At first Siddhant does not take the case seriously, but after meeting a spirited journalist he takes it seriously. He realizes that the case is not as simple as it seems to be and a soldier life lies in his hands. During the investigation Siddhant encounters Brigadier Pratap, a highly decorated officer. The convicted soldier Javed Khan (Deepak Dobriyal) remains mysteriously silent throughout the court session.

Javed Khan is charged for killing his fellow officer. But strangely he refuses to speak in his defense, as the secret of the night he holds is too powerful for the organization to handle. But an honest journalist Kavya who believes that every story has two sides encourages Siddhant to handle the case seriously. Two best friends Siddhant and Akash are very ambitious individuals, but both have opposite views on life. Akash is son of very famous lawyer, who is from army background. The profession that Akash ever though was the Indian army in which he wants to reach the peak whereas Siddhant is exactly opposite who hates for being in the country. He is in the army because of his father, who worked for army and lost his life. His aim is to start a bungee jumping school in New Zealand.

When Akash gets the case he convinces Siddhant to take the case. For Akash the logic is clear and with Sid on his opposite side he can make his victory easier. They have to go to Srinagar and Akash follows the blueprint he has set out for himself. Some questions are to be answered and to find out the answers we have to watch the movie.

It would have been better if you had provided the answers. It will need lot of Shaurya for me to watch the movie in a cinema hall.

I think after a couple of months people will be watching a good suspence & worthy movie —— especially after watching a senseless movie like “RACE” which does have any ethics.
